Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy at Common Ground is rooted in evidence-informed care, skilled clinical reasoning, and the belief that recovery is personal—not one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re recovering from a sports injury, a recent fall, post-surgical rehab, or simply dealing with persistent discomfort, our physiotherapists meet you where you are and work with you toward meaningful, sustainable progress.
Our team is licensed through the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and brings extensive experience in:
TMJ dysfunction
Vestibular rehab (including BPPV and dizziness)
Concussion recovery
Repetitive strain injuries
Sprains, strains, and joint pain
Post-surgical care
Chronic or complex conditions
Clients frequently come to us after trying other approaches that didn’t quite stick. What makes the difference here is the time we take to understand your full picture—your body, your goals, and what hasn’t worked so far—so we can approach treatment with clarity and care. We don’t overwhelm. We don’t shame. We adapt.
Each treatment plan may include manual therapy, targeted movement or exercise, acupuncture, and education on what’s happening in your body. You’re in the driver’s seat; we’re here to guide and support.
Physiotherapy is covered by most extended health benefit plans.

Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a hands-on, evidence-informed approach to improving mobility, relieving tension, and supporting your overall well-being. At Common Ground Health & Wellness, it’s also a space where clients feel heard, supported, and cared for—every step of the way.
Our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are highly trained, licensed professionals with over 2,200 hours of clinical education and successful provincial certification. What makes them stand out—something we hear often in client feedback—is their ability to truly listen. Each session is personalized to your goals, comfort, and pace.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing chronic tension, or navigating stress, you can expect care that’s thoughtful, respectful, and tailored to you. Our therapists draw from a variety of techniques—ranging from deep tissue and myofascial release to slower, more therapeutic approaches—to meet your unique needs.
We invite you to browse our team’s bios to find a practitioner whose approach feels right for you. No matter who you see, our commitment is the same: to offer massage therapy that is skilled, compassionate, and centred on your well-being.
Massage therapy is covered by most extended health benefit plans.

Massage Therapy with TMJ focus
Tension in the jaw can affect more than just your bite—it can contribute to headaches, facial discomfort, difficulty opening the mouth, and overall stress and fatigue. Many clients seek treatment after struggling for months (or years) with symptoms related to TMJ dysfunction (temporomandibular joint issues), including pain while chewing, clicking, or jaw locking.
At Common Ground Health & Wellness, our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are trained in intra-oral TMJ massage therapy, a specialized technique that allows for direct treatment of the muscles inside the mouth—alongside external work on the jaw, neck, shoulders, and face. When appropriate and with your full informed consent, this approach may help reduce muscular tension, support jaw mobility, and ease related symptoms such as tension headaches.
Clients often tell us they finally feel understood—and experience meaningful relief—after trying other treatments that didn’t quite address the root cause. This is slow, precise, and compassionate work that meets you where you’re at. We’re here to support your comfort, your boundaries, and your goals every step of the way.
A signed intra-oral consent form is required prior to this treatment.
Covered by most extended health insurance plans.
Psychotherapy
At our clinic, we believe that true healing happens when every part of you—mind, body, and heart—is cared for. Alongside our massage and physical wellness services, we offer psychotherapy to support your emotional and mental well-being.
Psychotherapy, sometimes called “talk therapy,” is a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with a trained mental health professional. It can help you better understand yourself, improve relationships, manage stress, and navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, or life transitions.
Our therapists provide compassionate, evidence-based care to help you build insight, coping skills, and a stronger sense of balance. Sessions are available both in-person and virtually, so you can choose what feels most comfortable and convenient.
Whether you’re addressing a specific concern or simply seeking personal growth, psychotherapy can be an important part of your overall wellness—working hand in hand with your physical health to support healing from the inside out.
Let’s take the next step in your healing journey, together.
Massage Therapy with RAPID Neurofascial Reset
RAPID NeuroFascial Reset (NFR) is a hands-on, neurologically based treatment technique offered under the scope of practice of Registered Massage Therapy in Ontario. All RAPID NFR sessions at Common Ground Health & Wellness are delivered by a licensed RMT and include a clinical assessment, treatment, and homecare plan in accordance with CMTO standards.
While RAPID may differ from traditional massage therapy techniques in its intensity and focus, it falls within the regulatory framework of therapeutic massage. The approach targets the nervous system's role in pain and mobility by combining precisely applied pressure with guided movements.
RAPID has been shown to be highly effective for a wide range of conditions—including, but not limited to, chronic pain, TMJ dysfunction, headaches, sciatica, and repetitive strain injuries. Clients should be aware that treatment may involve momentary discomfort as the body responds to the neurological stimulation, but many experience significant and lasting improvements in mobility and function.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture at Common Ground Health & Wellness is offered by licensed physiotherapists with advanced training and certification in this modality. Grounded in both traditional principles and contemporary evidence, acupuncture is used to help reduce pain, improve circulation, and support your body’s natural healing response.
Our physiotherapists are registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and have successfully completed post-graduate education that allows them to safely and effectively integrate acupuncture into individualized treatment plans. Depending on your needs, acupuncture may be used to:
Support recovery from musculoskeletal injuries
Ease chronic or acute pain
Help regulate the nervous system
Reduce muscular tension or trigger point discomfort
Complement hands-on therapy and movement-based rehabilitation
Acupuncture may be recommended as part of your physiotherapy session following an assessment. Your physiotherapist will always explain their clinical rationale, obtain your informed consent, and ensure you’re comfortable with the approach. We welcome questions and will walk you through each step.
Note: Acupuncture at our clinic is provided exclusively by Registered Physiotherapists as part of a broader physiotherapy treatment plan. This service is eligible under most extended health benefit plans for physiotherapy, not under acupuncture-specific coverage.
Massage Therapy with Cupping
Cupping is a therapy which applies negative pressure on the skin using plastic or silicone cups. The suction created stimulates and increases blood flow which can help relieve your joint and muscle pain, reduce inflammation, accelerate recovery, increase the function of lymphatic and circulatory system and increase overall relaxation. By creating suction, negative pressure cupping lifts and releases congested connective tissue. It loosens adhesions and helps re-oxygenate old tissue that have been injured while increasing healthy circulation to targeted area.
Custom Orthotics
When we stand and walk, our bodies experience forces that create stress and strain. If the feet are not properly aligned, these forces can contribute to discomfort and dysfunction in the knees, hips, back, and neck. Addressing foot imbalances can play an important role in improving body alignment, reducing pain, and enhancing mobility.
Custom orthotics are inserts designed to be placed inside footwear to provide support and optimize foot function. They can be an effective tool in managing pain and movement issues by promoting better biomechanics and stability.
While orthotics can help address foot imbalances, they are one approach within a broader strategy for improving movement and function. A comprehensive assessment by a Registered Physiotherapist ensures that your unique needs are considered, whether through orthotics or other therapeutic interventions.
When prescribed appropriately, custom orthotics can:
✔ Reduce pain in the feet, knees, hips, and lower back.
✔ Enhance stability in joints that may be prone to misalignment.
✔ Support mobility for individuals who may not be able to make extensive functional changes.
✔ Provide relief while working toward long-term movement and alignment improvements.
A custom orthotics assessment with a Registered Physiotherapist helps determine whether orthotics are a suitable option for you, while also considering additional strategies to improve function and comfort.
Yoga & Movement
Yoga is a holistic practice that integrates physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), and meditation to promote balance, flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Rooted in ancient traditions, it offers a path to self-awareness and inner peace by connecting the mind, body, and spirit. Practiced by people of all ages and abilities, yoga can be adapted to suit various goals, from relaxation to fitness or personal growth.
